Drink The New Wine
"Drink The New Wine" was recorded last year during lockdown with the four members sharing audio files. The track employs the Surrealists' 'Exquisite Corpse' device whereby each artist adds to the piece without seeing what the others have done. Bauhaus have used this technique in the past to great effect. The title refers to the very first Cadavre exquis' drawing rendered by André Breton, Marcel Duchamp, Jacques Prévert and Yves Tanguy which included words which when strung together made up the sentence, 'Le cadavre exquis boiara le vin nouveau' ('The exquisite corpse will drink the new wine.") For the recording, the four musicians each had one minute and eight tracks at their disposal plus a shared sixty seconds plus four tracks for a composite at the end. All done without hearing what the others had laid down. The only common link being a prerecorded beat courtesy of Kevin. The final playback came as synchronistic revelation.

Bauhaus. Your either in or your out. Four albums in four years and all so different but brilliant. Go Away White in 2008 bridged the gap perfectly. Peter Murphy,s vocals are extraordinary and his stage presense has got to be seen to be appreciated. A fantastic group of musicians and the original and best "goth" band if thats the genre they are labelled under.
First listen. And last listen. Reminded me of the experimental songs from past album with little to no guitar. I didn't like those songs either.

I never new bauhaus had reunited until peter came up while i was on youtube i also didnt know he had recorded his own solo stuff which is awsome its good to here new music from them sorry to hear peter suffered a heart attack and had to go in to rehab for his health hope he recovers ok he is an awsome artist and one of the greats of goth sydney australia 9 oct 2022

It's David J who sang, among other songs, "Who Killed Mr Moonlight". His voice tends to be a bit higher while Daniel's is lower.

@@growskull That's correct. Sometimes their voices cross into each other where it's hard to distinguish but it's obvious in most cases after you recognize the differences.
